The vertical annular chamber RM Mill is a continuously working capacity mill which incorporates the proven grinding technology from the original NETZSCH John Mill. Until the development of the John System, vertical mills used long bars attached to a small diameter agitator shaft. Today, the RM mill incorporates a large diameter cooled shaft with short pegs radially fastened to the diameter. This design eliminates the low energy zone and results in uniform peripheral speeds. The product to be processed passes through the small anulus created by the large diameter shaft and the chamber wall. The product is separated from the grinding media through a gap separation system. This gap is created between the rotating hollow shaft and the horizontal end plate of the grinding chamber. The uniform grinding action ensures complete dispersion of very high viscosity, high solids formulas.
