KE Agitator Bead Mill Operating Principle

Back to KE Agitator Bead Mill

KE SK Series

The slurry to be ground is continuously fed into the bottom of the machine via positive displacement pump like a NETZSCH NEMO progressing cavity pump. Size reduction and homogenization occurs by intense mixing of the slurry into the large diameter beads. Typical bead size range is 2 mm up to 6 mm. The eccentric disc design used on the mill allows optimization of the flow pattern inside the mill to prevent high temperatures due to media compression. The large slot and high open surface area of the sieve plate media retention system allows processing of relatively viscous materials.

KE C Series

The wetted parts of this mill are completely abrasion resistant. Like the KE SK, the slurry is continuously pumped into the bottom of the mill where a dynamic separation system is installed to ensure complete activation of the grains of product used as grinding media. Grain size is generally 500 microns to 2 mm. Typically due to the high hardness of the material to be ground several cycles through the mill are required, running the mill with a batch tank in circulation operations. The dynamic classifying system on the top of the grinding chamber both separates the grinding grains from the slurry and allows the continuous addition of the grains as grinding media.
