Air Classifier CFS Operating Principle

[ Back to Air Classifier CFS ]

A vortex of inlet air is created at the base of the classifier cone to disperse particles in the airstream. Material is metered into the top of the classifier. Fine particles are carried in the classifying air to the classifier wheel at the velocities sufficient to allow them to pass through the rotating classifier wheel. Coarse particles are rejected to be discharged through the coarse product outlet. The cut point is adjusted by varying the speed of the classifier wheel and air flow.
