| ZETA II offers users choices of application, particle size and viscosity
EXTON, Pa., April 3, 2006 – NETZSCH Fine Particle Technology, LLC, a leading provider of wet and dry grinding technologies for a wide variety of processing applications, now offers the ZETATM II high-efficiency grinding system for applications that require particle fineness into the nano range. With its precision engineering and high reliability, the ZETA II system offers exact reproducibility of final product, batch after batch, with high throughput speed over a broad range of viscosities.
Among the many advantages that the ZETA II system offers, perhaps the most significant is the increase in productivity that it delivers. The average residence time for products within the ZETA II can be half that of conventional mills. In fact, in the time required to run one pass on a standard horizontal mill, the ZETA II system can make 12 or more passes, or turnovers, per batch.
The design of the ZETA II system increases the kinetic energy of the grinding media during the grinding process and reduces hydraulic packing associated with high velocity
flow. While other mills may experience problems with batch bypassing, the ZETA II system minimizes this phenomenon. In addition, its agitator system produces a uniform activation of grinding media as small as 100µm, or as large as 3mm, offering users a comprehensive range of final particle sizes, including nano particles, to choose from.
The ZETA II system’s ability to handle virtually any viscosity makes it the ideal choice in a wide variety of applications, including: adhesives; ceramics; printing inks; ink jet inks; paints, including special paints for OEM; pharmaceuticals; cosmetics; tinting pastes; pigments; dyes for textiles, plastics and films; agriculture chemicals; magnetic coatings; high tech products; paper coatings and many more. And cleanup of the ZETA II is fast and easy as the system’s integrated speed adjustment guarantees a thorough and gentle cleaning of the agitator mill and the grinding media without even opening the grinding cylinder.
.
The ZETA II system requires less grinding media than conventional mills, yet produces a higher product yield, on average. The system also features advantages such as: multiple cooling zones for precise temperature control; choice of grinding media (steel, glass, ceramic); choice of materials on wetted parts of the grinding system, to accommodate different fields of application; and an extensive safety system.
